Believe in yourself:
If I recall correctly, back in February 2004, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg had single-handedly disrupted conservative ideals for mens office-attire by wearing a bedtime robe and slippers to a meeting with top-brass venture capitalists interested in his company. It was a pivotal moment on the timeline of mens fashion. Soon thereafter, the battle against conservative business attire had begun. And ultra-comfort clothing has gained traction ever since.
Now, in 2022, Facebook is owned by Meta Platforms and the men’s style battleground is ripe for revolution once again. It is indisputable that the ways of conducting business have changed. I am sure that you have heard the adage over and over again that says “Dress for the job you want, not the job you have.” It is very clear to me that young entrepreneurs are taking the opportunity of the ever ballooning new business world. It is simply not enough for zoomers and young millenials to work a shift at a company while planning their next 40 years at the same company. In 2022, it’s time to convince the world that your ingenuity is able to edge out any competition in a similar business sector.
It is no coincidence that in the early to mid twenty-first century, the concept of office-attire has influenced and reorientated mens fashion. It should be noted, though, that the newly accepted casual style package aligns well with modern styles of doing business altogether. In fact, this intermixing of digital business applications with the contemporary male wardrobe started happening when the internet started being used by the general public—back in the early 1990’s. This isn’t to say that overnight businessmen discarded their traditional business attire in exchange for ultra casual business style, but rather that changes in menswear were evident.
Amazon Maven Tommy Rodriguez:
And speaking of new methods of doing business, Amazon has to be one of the most successful strategies to observe today. Not only has Amazon emerged as a global e-commerce giant, but the growth of this platform has been exponential, giving way to entrepreneurs interested in developing fresh business strategies. In short, Amazon automation operates by a strong focus on dropshipping which in turn seamlessly manages and organizes a brands dropshipping.
And in speaking of new business development and dressing for success, I decided to lean into fiscal year 202 by speaking with successful entrepreneurs about their vision in the automated intelligence platforms. Without a shadow of a doubt AI is progressing at a rapid pace with no-end in sight. But one entrepreneur is grabbing the proverbial bull by the horns and driving it to success.
Tommy Rodriguez is an entrepreneur in this space who started his company, Automation Empire, based on Amazon automation. Rodriguez found a need in the dropshipping market and sought-out to repair it. And he did just that.
He even invented an app called TROD that helps his employees fast-track their clients’ stores. How his ingenuity came into play was that the 34-year-old had struggled for years to learn the business of dropshipping. Like most successful entrepreneurs, he took that knowledge and launched his company with what he refers to as the ‘endless possibilities’ of Amazon automation.
What I find heartfelt is that Rodriguez’s road to success was a challenging one. In his early years, he was homeless and had to learn to survive at a very young age. It wasn’t until 2012 when he got a good break. At that time, he came across a CPA marketing want-ad for Twitter. Given he had no prior experience, Rodriguez felt drawn to giving it a try because the company tweeted about a free trial. For me, this is the unfiltered true passion of what makes greatness in America. Subsequently, he worked 18 to 20 hours a day mastering marketing strategies and generating content leads.
In 2014, Rodriguez discovered dropshipping on eBay and this business stream changed his trajectory to a whole new space. After much trial and error, Although he learned the basics of dropshipping, like any true person with entrepreneurial spirit, he thought to connect dropshipping managers and assist him with his own stores —in every aspect of the business.
Soon Thereafter, he realized the endless possibilities of this business sector. He addressed the modern business need with a focused strategy to help clients scale up their businesses. In my cross-examining of how Automation Empire affects the fashion business, I was pleased to hear the positive reviews across the board.
You see, the business model that Tommy Rodriguez developed is unique from the competition. In fact, this uniqueness is the competitive advantage of the Automation Empire. Although he worked with virtual assistants for a while, by 2015, he launched the business by hiring freelancers to achieve greater results. Thereafter, he onboarded staff for his company in Colombia.
Rodriguez’s company is a trusted platform in quality dropshipping services. The company is based on the concept of being mutually beneficial by helping people to achieve their desired goals.
Why Dressing For Success Actually Works
Studies have shown that wearing nice clothes during office hours can affect the way people perceive you, boost your self-confidence and display a detail-oriented image of yourself. In fact, recent studies have indicated that dressing for success adds value to your image. It didn’t take very long for online clothing store Peter Manning (clothing for guys 5’8” or shorter) to understand the importance of focusing on a segmented demographic; shorter men. More to my point, shorter men- interested in dressing for corporate ascension. Wearing garments that fit well is essential for a man’s confidence and self-esteem. And when garments fit well, it will not only make you look great, but also make you appear taller and more professional.
In 2022, corporate business has placed a strong emphasis on apparel. Today’s choices draw firm distinctions of status and wealth. In addition, being well put together helps others to view you positively.
Make no bones about it; wearing formal attire makes you feel more powerful, which leads to better creativity. Dressing well may be expensive but might pay for themselves the next time you’re negotiating salary or payment. More importantly, and all too often, casual dressers tend to back down to the well-dressed men who display a greater sense of respect and authority.
Some American men brush off the importance of dressing well. In fact, an abundant number of modern companies don’t enforce such strict dress codes. I find it to be a disservice and a sign of sheer and utter laziness. In the recent past, I have witnessed some of the worst dressing that I have ever seen. For example, men in wrinkled shirts and pants; Athletic socks worn with trousers and dress shoes, dirty t-shirts and sneakers. I find it all so disrespectful to the company who employs you. While it’s certainly nice to dress casually, it can hurt your chances of moving up the corporate ladder.
Much of your success depends on what other people think of you. You want to be the kind of person that others want to work with, pay, and promote. It all starts with how you get dressed in the morning. Spending a few minutes each morning to pick the right outfit and groom yourself can pay off big time.
I recently had the chance to speak with Tommy Rodriguez Founder of Automation Empire about finding a balance between human intelligence and AI-process automation, why he believes that dressing for success not only boosts self-confidence but increases productivity and how he has built TROD into one of the largest and most popular Amazon store automation businesses!
Joseph DeAcetis: Talk to Forbes about creating and leading Amazon Automation?
Tommy Rodriguez Founder of Amazon Automation: I decided to change my trajectory. My aim was to separate myself from other professionals in the traditional coaching line of business. I sought to create something in the property management arena and I was fortunate enough to enter into this new developing space. Now, looking back, it feels like a tremendou accomplishment.
JD: Talk to Forbes about why dressing to impress is important as an industry leader and business owner?
Dressing for success does matter. In fact, I feel that it is very important for a company leader to set an example. These days, many companies permit a relaxed dress code for their employees. Although a well-put together relaxed style is fine, there are stronger options available for the important meetings. For me, during office- hours, I enjoy wearing a nice suit. As the owner of my own company, wearing a suit boosts my self-confidence to take on the day — and look good while doing it. And quite frankly, wearing ripped jeans and your favorite tee-shirt to the office does not convey a message of respect to your subordinates or to your brand. I prefer my employees to present themselves well during office hours. It not only looks good, but rather has been proven to increase productivity throughout the day.
JD: What are your day-to-day job responsibilities?
TR: Overlooking accounts. I have a team that manages overseeing accounts as well. Monday meetings and always being in contact with my COO. Confirming that things are running smoothly with stores and suppliers and account management with relation to revenue streams.
Talk to Forbes about the challenges you faced when you launched your company—- and how you had overcome those challenges?
TR: There are a lot of challenges in the e-comm space among those include; hiring top executives and talented personnel to train, operate and develop strategies to remain as the #1 drop-shipping expert in the world. Leadership and management are critical to the success of any organization and being able to trust your employees with the business you started as they curate a community and work environment where we all celebrate our successes, birthdays, anniversaries, holidays and families.
Every day we cheer for each other, challenge each other and communicate with each other because having everyone in house allows us to develop what no other drop-shipping company has and that is the ability to serve the client with World Class Customer Care.
While every business faces challenges, our challenges are exclusive to market share and system development to create a company that employees and clients alike grow, thrive and move up in skills and mindset while adding assets to their wealth portfolios.
This is also the very thing that makes us stand apart. Owning, operating and organizing a team of highly talented individuals across industries who come together for the purpose of serving the customer and growing the company.
In your words, what is your competitive advantage within your business sector today?
TR: We no longer rely on third party vendors or third world developers to systematically grow. We have the highest level of facial recognition software, black box security and protocols to protect the clients’ assets and a process to choose, list and fulfill products on behalf of our investors while maintaining integrity with the world’s largest retailers including Wal-Mart & Amazon.
Our clientele are sophisticated investors who understand the long-term investment strategy and are willing to trust an executive board with decades of experience leading more than 1.7 Billion in sales, managing over a thousand accounts with an average ROI of 11% and a return on initial investment of 12-18 months to having hundreds of employees. In a competitive marketplace where ROI’s matter and World Class Customer Care lacks having the ability to speak with your account manager, visiting the office in Bogota, Colombia and investing in a platform that people shop on every day allows us to create an exceptional experience for our clientele.
How does dressing-well boost one’s self-confidence?
TR: Dressing well can boost self-confidence in a few ways. When a person takes the time to dresswell and practice healthy grooming routines; it automatically will boost self-confidence. Both your superiors and your co-workers will perceive you as a focused individual with a keen sense of detail. In fact, branding is critical to success. Our employees use branded pens, notebooks, computer monitors and even apparel. Therefore, they represent a brand of integrity, a community of like-minded individuals who share similar family-orientated values. In 2022, dressing for corporate ascension will once again be a priority in business settings.
Talk to Forbes about your brand expansion strategy?
TR: Expansion requires investments and investments require expertise. We are set up to build a 100-Million-dollar company over the course of the next few years – because we keep investing back into our infrastructure, clientele and systems. All three are critical to the success and outcome of profitability.
Infrastructure is the backbone of every business. The ins-and-outs of day-to-day operations. The communication modalities and technological advances that keep Automation Empire at the forefront of the competition come with having a customized App and Experience of owning everything from the development of the Trod App on Google Play OR Apple to flying to the office to do coffee with the employees.
Clientele is what makes us successful. By not only understanding the long-term investment strategy and committing to the financial wherewithal our clientele is primed to experience some of the highest ROI’s in any industry today. Patience and Capital is critical to the outcome of their store’s success.
Systems are what makes expansion possible. Efficiency of the investment from beginning to end allows for a seamless and smooth set-up process, operations of e-comm stores and outcome of the investment. Systems allow for employees to show up with eagerness to grow, develop and challenge themselves to continue making the customer experience better each day as they show up with passion in an environment they enjoy working in.
At Automation Empire the work we do, the customer care we provide and the assets we manage are always going to be the very things that keep us up at night and challenge us during the day to be, do and have more than any other company in the space. It is also these very things that allow us to continue to expand and grow as individuals and as a company our skill sets and mindsets to be #1 in the space.
