The past few months have given the workers in the trucking industry a new voice. Supply chain disruptions and an unprecedented consumer demand surge have put the importance of the shipping and delivery business in the forefront. Enter: Ozan Baran a successful Turkish entrepreneur whose expanded his role in the business world to Florida. To address what he sees as major issues in the industry, he sought to create what he calls the ‘Uber of trucking.’
Life on the highway has has taken a turn for the better for both self-employed drivers and customers alike with his company Quickload. As the CEO and founder, Baran oversees the smart trucking network for innovative shipping companies. His platform offers, on one hand, trucking loads that are worthwhile for drivers monetarily, while on the other hand shippers who can easily connect with qualified truckers around the country to deliver their products in a timely manner.
Quickload rose out of Baran’s deep understanding of logistics back in 2006 when he evaluated industry issues such as truckers taking freights northbound only to have to turn around the south with empty freights. After much research, he found a way to coordinate ways for truckers to be more cost-efficient and for shippers to have products delivered in a more timely manner. It’s a solution that is giving a viable boost to the economy and keeping America’s supply and demand chain in sync.
Though much of this company’s setup is on the road, Baran knows the importance of an old-fashioned business meeting.
We chatted with him on his favorite spots to wine and dine clients.
