The hotel bathtub can be a coveted room or suite amenity, and Hotels.com is trying to further retain their status through finding their first “Bath Boss.”
In giving someone this title and accompanying responsibilities, this Hotels.com contest will have the winner embark on am in-field research trip to three luxury hotels in New York City. On this described “Tour de Tub,” the appointed “Bath Boss” will be given the task of putting their lavish in-room tubs to the test and documenting their experiences.
From November 9 through November 15, 2021, this individual will conduct their research and findings at each hotel stay, perhaps with some bubbles involved.
Hotels.com’s “Bath Boss” will check out the bathtubs at three New York City luxury hotels.
They will spend two nights at each property, but they must allot proper time toward scoping out their tub.
“At Hotels.com, we’re passionate about living our best ‘hotel life’ and all the perks that come with it, including epic bathing experiences,” said Shannon Lovich, the head of PR and communications North America at Hotels.com, in a media statement. “When we saw a recent Washington Post article about how hotel bathtubs may be on their way out, we knew we had to step in to save them.”
The NYC hotels participating in this “Bath Boss” contest are the Mr. C Seaport, The Dominick and The Langham, New York, Fifth Avenue. Each property was chosen based upon their topnotch tubs, with the work week scheduled amid the fall season for splendid seasonal outdoor views.
Mr. C Seaport is located in the Manhattan’s South Street Seaport.
Based within lower Manhattan’s South Street Seaport, Mr. C Seaport is within the surroundings of the East River and Brooklyn Bridge along with their balconies overlooking the city skyline. Owned by the Cipriani family, Mr. C Seaport contains 66 refined guest rooms and suites.
In Soho, The Dominick is a Five-Diamond property in which the “Bath Boss” will be said to have penthouse views during their time there. A member of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts Legend Collection, The Dominick contains 391 residential-style guest rooms, with more than a third of which are suites. With dining, The Vestry is a seasonally-driven establishment led by Michelin Star Chef Shaun Hergatt.
Hotels.com’s “Bath Boss” will stay at The Dominick in Soho.
Third, in midtown Manhattan, The Langham, New York, Fifth Avenue has many rooms and suites taking in window scenes of the bustling neighborhood’s landscape. In July 2021, the hotel welcomed Sky Terrace by Ai Fiori, an outdoor dining oasis on its 11th floor. The restaurant is known for its modern interpretations of French and Italian Riviera cuisine, with dishes inspired by the land and sea.
In addition to the three hotel stays, the “Bath Boss” winner will be compensated for their work with a $5,000 “salary” and a $1,000 travel stipend. Also for their tub time, they will be given plush bath accessories, a custom robe, slippers and an eye mask.
