Today Chanel opened a new boutique in Aspen, Colorado that will be open until April of this year. The 3,353 square foot boutique is temporary and housed in the historic Benton Building with a very Chanel touch. The woven floor coverings, tweed couches with plush pillows and faux fur, along with the Chanel color palette of white and beige with black and gold- it’s an ode of Gabrielle Chanel’s 31 Rue Cambon apartment.
The boutique is filled with ready-to-wear items, pieces from the Cruise 2021-22 and Coco Neige collections, and accessories from handbags and shoes, to Chanel fine jewelry, as well as fragrance and beauty items are seen throughout the store. The House hasn’t forgotten the necessary skiwear with goggles, gloves, and snow boots.
Aspen was strategically chosen by Chanel for its more than fifty years history as being an off-duty celebrity playground. The autumn winter 2021/22 collection was unveiled during Paris Fashion Week at the renowned Left Bank nightclub: Castel. It’s influences come from, “the ambiance of ski holidays, which I adore, and a certain idea of cool Parisian chic, from the 1970s to now,” shares creative director Virginie Viard.
Throughout the boutique the Chanel letters are printed on items, as well as the well-known interlocking C’s. Puffer jackets on the racks are ready for the slopes, which according to the House are, “inspired by the Chanel jacket, which are a nod to Mademoiselle Chanel’s distinctive straight silhouette.”
“Guests can discover the J12 watch in black or white ceramic on the second floor of the boutique along with a selection from the Camélia and Coco Crush Fine Jewelry Collections, whose designs are inspired by the house’s ageless codes. Nearby are the House’s Fragrances, including the iconic CHANEL N ̊5, which this year celebrates its 100th anniversary,” shares the House.
