CAP-HAÏTIEN — After years of complaints about trash overrunning the nation’s second largest metropolis, the Haitian authorities launched Konbit Ayiti Zewo Dechè, or “Zero Trash Collective” in Cap-Haitien April 25. Nonetheless, residents say, the inaugural tidying of a beachfront space is just not sufficient, particularly since current rains exacerbated waste-related blockages which have disrupted each day life.
About 50 staff and authorities officers had kicked off the nationwide cleanup at The Litoral, a stretch of seaside close to the Cap-Haïtien Worldwide Airport.
