A celebration of Haitian girls’s voices in literature and meals introduced collectively authors and group members at Brooklyn Faculty.
BROOKLYN, New York — Haitian girls’s voices rang with energy and pleasure throughout the Haitian Girls E book Speak at Brooklyn Faculty on March 24, a night devoted to storytelling, sisterhood, and the literary legacy of Haitian girls.
The occasion, titled the Haitian Girls E book Speak, was organized in observance of Worldwide Girls’s Day. Contributors included authors Edwidge Danticat, Ibi Zoboi, Maika and Maritza Moulite, and chef and author Nadege Fleurimond.
Hosted by the Haitian Studies Institute at Brooklyn Faculty in partnership with the Division of World Languages, Literatures and Humanities at York Faculty, CUNY, the night featured moderated discussions, e book signings, and light-weight refreshments.
This system was devoted to the reminiscence of Danielle Legros Georges, a Haitian-American poet and former poet laureate of Boston.
